Things really got rolling once the teams made it to the canoes. A lot of hot people coming off the land nav, with stories of Segway....
A great deal of entertainment was provided as canoes were launched. Out of the first 5 groups, only 3 made the first turn dry. Thanks to a well positioned volunteer, we'll have some video clips posted tomorrow.
Team 48 led the way (I know, I know, it's not a race), crossing the finish line at 2:52 pm, about 25 minutes ahead of course estimates. They were followed close behind by 3-4 other teams all finishing together.
We had a tumble on the ropes...
We had lots of muddy feet at the beach landing.... a couple lost shoes as well.
We had several canoes overturned, and overturned, and overturned...
All in all, it sounds like everyone had a great day. And after all was said and done, only 1 team turned in a perfect score on their passport (the Confluence sculpture got most everyone).
On behalf of Rogers Block, I would like to thank all of our sponsor, supporters and volunteers. Please take the time to check out their links on this page. A special thanks to Indy Rootstock for their many hours of course design and event layout.
